Radio Clash: the interviews
Sep. 12th, 2013 09:44 am
The Clash are all over the place at the moment because of their new album release. You can hear interviews with the surviving members here on Spotify. TBH, I’d rather just listen to London Calling, but some people may be interested.
Your Hundred Best Tunes Redux
Aug. 5th, 2012 10:24 amI have some neat new headphones and yesterday tried them out on Spotify. I know most people have moved on from Spotify but I still have the old free version and although I hadn’t used it for ages, my playlists were still safely stored. Almost. My favourite list is the one I call the LJ 100 and you can see it here.
Since I last listened to this great list, Bob Dylan has disappeared completely and Graceland is sung by Willie Nelson instead of Paul Simon. This is bizarre. Have copyright laws changed in the last three years? Luckily I was canny enough to sneak in a few Dylan covers and still comply with the rules of the meme.

The Your 100 (Almost) Best Tunes Meme
Nov. 28th, 2009 03:12 pmThis is an absolutely fiendish meme which originated with
loganberrybunny and which I got from
huskyteer. Here are the rules:
Create a Spotify playlist containing exactly 100 songs. There are no limits on genres, content, length etc. Instrumentals are fine. However, you may only choose one song per artist, and one artist per song.
I love Spotify (it's free!) but I've only used it to play something I fancy hearing or that someone has recommended. Thanks to technical help from kind hearted
huskyteer I have at last compiled this playlist of 100 songs. It's hard to choose! It's just today's list! And here's just some of the things I couldn't have:
Any Beatles
Kate Bush, Running Up That Hill
John Lennon, Jealous Guy
Bill Oddie, Harry Krishna
Alexei Sayle, Hello John, Got a New Motor?
Sonny and Cher, I Got You Babe
The Eagles, Desperado
The Move
The Roches, Bad For Me
Mike Sarne, Come Outside
The Teddy Bears, To Know, Know, Know Him
Richard Thompson, See My Friends
Leroy van Dyke, Walk On By
Mireille Mathieu, La Dernière Valse
( list )
