I've just been looking at the Yarnstorm blog. Jane says she knits socks inside out, that is with the knit side in. How else would you do it? Genuine question, I just can't see how any other way would work.
Well, if you're happy with it then you might as well carry on that way! I like to try my socks on as I knit them, so it would annoy me, but each to their own!
The first couple of socks I did on dpns came out inside out, but then I worked out how to hold the needles so it came out the right way out - it made it easier to graft the toe.
Now I only use magic loop, and it always comes out the right way round, although I suppose you could do it inside out if you wanted to.
I think it was Elizabeth Zimmerman who said that there was no right or wrong way to knit - so long as you have a sock at the end of it, and you're happy, carry on regardless...
No, I knit. See white_hart's comment above; I am knitting on the needles furthest away from me, if that makes sense. My brain is in better gear now. Knitting (not a sock) yesterday evening I suddenly sussed how the other way would work.
