Sock knitters, ahoy!

I'm currently knitting some pretty tough looking socks with reinforced heels and toes. Can't wait to start on the pink lacy ones. Has anyone actually seen/used a copy of this book?



English or American? Would it be the slightest use to a person who already has a hoard of vintage 1930s/40s/50s patterns?

Oh dear, your socks sound just like mine. I've seen some lovely ones on Knitty but as you say, you'd have to concentrate. I can't see me ever getting my head round knitting them on circular needles or working them toe up.

You must try circular needles, they make it all soooo easy. I tend to do the rib and heel on dpns, and swap to 30cm circs for the rest and it's bliss.
