Netiquette with reference to blogging
Jan. 23rd, 2014 11:40 amI don’t make new year’s resolutions but I have made a decision which I’ll try to stick to. With a couple of exceptions, I will no longer make any comments on blogs where the writer never replies. It makes me feel: ignored; that I may have said something stupid; that the blogger has taken a dislike to me for some reason (fair enough).
It seems to me good manners to reply to comments, in the same way that you would reply to a letter or an email someone sent you. What does the team think?

Anniversary
Feb. 15th, 2011 08:12 amIt’s five years today since my first post to Live Journal. I was given membership as a birthday present; my first proper post was about gardening. Now blogging is a really important part of my life. There’s a wonderful community here and I feel lucky to have made such good friends. Thank you all, and thanks too to all the non-LJ readers. I don’t know who most of you are, but thanks for looking.
One thing leads to another
Jan. 26th, 2007 07:51 pmSince being pointed there by
minniemoll I’ve become a regular reader of
dovegreyreader’s blog. In an idle moment I looked up her entry in LibraryThing . Who doesn’t want to know what books other people have got? I despair of ever getting round to doing this myself: the thought of cataloguing thousands of books is just too daunting. Typically trivial minded, I was sidetracked by the photo (of herself?) she has put there. Not so much the charming child portrait but the obviously Pedigree doll with her, which looks the same vintage as my own. So here for your delight is a picture of three little girls with their dolls.
