A free hellebore

I was writing recently about how much I was looking forward to seeing how my hellebore seedling would look when it flowered. Here it is! It kindly opened up on my birthday and huskyteer is holding its head up for the photo. Hellebore seedlings are chancy things, which may turn out a muddy pink, not worth having. That’s why I recommend only buying a hellebore plant when it’s in flower. I see from the label that I’ve been growing this one since July 2019 (why you should label your seedlings and cuttings). I have some more babies and it will probably be another two years until they flower. I think this one worthy of being planted out. And no one has another exactly like it!

It's beautiful!, such a delicate colour. Just a little tip, if you upload smaller resized photos it'd save using up all your storage quickly.

The original photo you uploaded was much larger, no? It wasn't 320 pixels, more like 1600 pixels and you chose the 320 size from DW images to display on your post. If you click on your picture in your post a couple of times it enlarges to the one that is in the DW photo database. That is the one that counts towards your quota. Actually, you don't really post enough photos for it to become a problem. Forget I said anything :)

Oh my goodness, you're more techie than I am. I still think it's a terrible faff compared with uploading to LJ. Plus, with crossposting not working (known issue), I have to do everything twice.

It's definitely more difficult to upload photos here compared to LJ but like everything the more you do it the more like second nature it becomes :) I went off LJ photos when they changed it to scrapbook and stopped users being able to tag photos and make galleries and find them again, which if you had 100s like me was no good. DW isn't any better in that respect. Now I linked to flickr or the new Nextcloud. I can't see crossposting coming back :/
