I’m only putting this on Dreamwidth, not on LJ where my daughter might read it and be embarrassed. At the weekend, she overcame all the bureaucracy necessary to travel to France, in order to do a 2.5km swim. The location was the Château de Chantilly, the scene of Zorin’s Castle in A View to a Kill. She decided to swim for Unicef because the late Roger Moore was an ambassador for them for many years. I was cold all weekend, so goodness knows what the water was like. She completed the swim and, at the time of writing, had raised over £1,000. The target was £500.00, so people were generous. More information here. Well done!

Well done her! The water here has cooled to 16-17 degrees in the river but if she was in a lake it would probably have been a bit warmer.

Well done Alice, what a great thing to do! Glad she managed to get to France, too. No wonder you are a proud mum x

That’s wonderful. I’ve no idea how she stood such cold water.

Good for her, both for the swimming and the funds raised. It must be terribly difficult to travel out of the country these days.
