No stir of air was there,
Not so much life as on a summer's day
Robs not one light seed from the feather'd grass,
But where the dead leaf fell, there did it rest.

John Keats, Hyperion

It was sunny and baking hot outside at 7.30 this morning. This afternoon, it’s cloudy and my weather app suddenly tells me it will rain. I’ll believe it when I see it but a thunderstorm would be a blessing.

It's been blistering hot. I went outside at one point and it was like walking into warm butter. I'd love a thunderstorm but I don't think there's much chance although there's a yellow warning for early next week but they could be anywhere.

Eight wickets :) Come on England, you can do it.

They were interviewing some people at the beaches and they were complaining about the lack of social distancing and then said, "but what can you do?". I thought, "you could bloody well go home, that's what you can do!" Another one said "but if I don't come here I won't get a holiday". People are either a bit thick or they don't care.

I slept for almost 3½ hours then woke up too warm. I got up before 5am and did some packing, not that it was much cooler at that hour.

I don't understand why people say test cricket is boring. How can it be with all the twists and turns :)
