While dealing with emails this morning, I’ve been listening to Alexander Armstrong’s new morning show on Classic FM, which I like very much. He was saying how much he’s missing cricket and sympathising with listeners who have ‘an Oval-shaped space in your life’. I do! This provided a cunning link to a piece of music by Delius, who was, apparently, a great cricket fan. Who knew?

There are quite a few holes in life at the moment, cricket being one. I'm sure it will all get back to normal soon. I'm just worried that this will become a recurring problem if they don't find a vaccine.

Wimbledom, Proms, all the flower shows ... I can't see it getting better when the infection rate is still high in some parts of the country and people crowd the beaches and have illegal parties. What idiots.

I normally love the summer and get stuck for what to watch live and what to record as there's so much. I'll miss the Tour de France and the cricket not to mention the tennis and Proms.

I'm still annoyed by the 8/9 in our garden last Monday. It was either 5 kids and three adults or 6 kids and 3 adults, including my neighbour, all sitting on the grass together. Kids visiting grandparents and guess what, one is having chemo at the moment. And some wonder why I keep my distance from everyone! They really think what they are doing is perfectly safe. My neighbour goes out and visits her family and friends all the time. Swans around with a smile on her face - I really want to wipe it off and tell her what a reckless idiot she is.
