I spoke too soon

I’ve just gone to Tesco online. There is not a single slot available until April! After this weekend I may be told to stay at home. WTF am I supposed to do? I can’t believe that all the people who’ve nabbed the slots are over seventy. I wonder if they’ll refund my Delivery Saver payment, since I can’t get deliveries?

PS Waitrose and Ocado websites both down. Any ideas?

I looked this morning and the first delivery slot available was 2nd April so I booked that, filled the basket and paid. I just looked at the site again and now the first available slot is the 5th April. They'll all be gone by the end of the day! I had a routine Iceland delivery this morning which I booked last week so it'll be 16 days until I get more provisions. I don't have much storage space but I think I have enough food at the moment for 2-3 weeks. There are so many selfish people nabbing the slots and panic buying. Keep booking well in advance, you can always cancel closer to the date if things get better. xx

Is your closest supermarket close? If so you could visit as late as possible in the evening when it's quieter. Our tesco is open all night which is even better. You can stock up and then grab yourself a slot in April for your next supplies. x

I have booked a slot for three weeks' time! Only two items in the basket but at least I have it. It was the last one.

I went shopping this afternoon and it was very quiet because,I was told, it had been manic earlier in the day. There were a lot of empty shelves. I feel happier now I have more non-perishables at home. Shattered, though.

Some people, maybe. I doubt if you've been booking a slot every day, which apparently some people have done, because you wouldn't be that selfish.
