I bought the latest issue of Simply Knitting today, with its free project bag. Just right for keeping my sock knitting in, I thought. But not yet, because it smells most peculiar. Stick your nose inside and it's like walking into B & Q: sort of creosote-y. So I have hung it on the line with the washing to see if the breeze and the fab sunshine will purge it.

I may not bother with this magazine any more. This month's patterns are horrible.

I've bought Simply Knitting a couple of times but have never felt the slightest desire to knit any of the patterns, so I've stopped bothering now. I quite like Knit Today, though, but I get most of my patterns from the interweb.

I have kept some of the mags for patterns I like. I was tempted by Knit Today when they had a sock supplement but there's really nothing to read in it. Yarn Forward is good but there's no sign of a second issue yet.

I can't get that here without making great efforts. Really, I think knitting mags are a waste of money but they get addictive. Perhaps I should sell some of my vintage ones.
