Further to my 'must read faster' post of two days ago, this morning I went to the market and to a small local book fair. I bought these twenty books for about £12.00.

The flash is because the boxed Viragos are still shrink wrapped. Some duplicates here, and upgrades, but still plenty of new reading.

Wow! I was impressed before I enlarged the photo and saw the three on the right - then I was very impressed, especially by In the High Valley. Five Dolls sells well, usually about £10 - £15, should you wish to part with it.

Not bad, eh? Lucy Brown is one of my favourite school stories and I think this is a 1st so will be the copy I keep. Five Dolls will be for sale. As for the Coolidge, well, what luck. A chap at the book fair had some shelves marked 'all books £1.00 to £3.50'. I was standing reading Niall Fergusson's The Pity of War and deciding that it was too heavy and I'd look for a paperback, when the Katy book just caught my eye. I'd previously walked past it twice. Ironically the same seller had the only Chalet book there: a late reprint of Exploits in a dw, priced at £25.00. I doubt if you could sell it for ten.
