Nearly everyone I know is depressed. Cheer yourself up by watching a film starring Cary Grant, born this day 1904. His Girl Friday (1940) is one of my favourites. What’s yours?

Probably His Girl Friday also, but I do love North by Northwest.

(I don't love him as much as I love Bogart but he is up there.)

The Bishop's Wife, closely followed by His Girl Friday.

I recently watched Arsenic and Old Lace again, which I found amusing as ever, in spite of Grant's overacting.

Another fabourite! I have quite a few DVDs and nothing on television at weekends, so I think it's time to indulge.

This sounds like a great idea, especially on a particularly depressing day in the U.S. My personal favorite is The Awful Truth, but His Girl Friday is very very close behind, and North by Northwest is wonderful too.

Yes. I feel for you, but it affects us all. Time for escapism.
