Yesterday I boasted about saving space by buying books for the Kindle. Then I went out (just because it wasn’t raining) and in the first charity shop I looked in, found the books below, BOGOFF. Bluestockings I’ve been wanting to read for ages and have already started. The Julian Barnes I’ve read, borrowed from the library. It’s so good (and short) that I want to read it again. The great find was the Mrs Malory books by Hazel Holt. They are the second and seventh books in the series and I’ve read neither of them. What a treat in store. These are US editions, which I’d never seen before.

By lunchtime it was teeming with rain again.

When you come to read Bluestockings, look out for the remarkable story of Trixie Pearson; (I was a pupil of hers.)

How interesting! She's already been mentioned and as you say, hers is a remarkable story. It's nice to know she handed on the torch :-)
