Never even heard of him, let alone read him. I have, however, read several of Danielle tSteele's books but for the life of me can't remember which ones!

Pretty mainstream list and slightly depressing! I would have thought Anne Tyler would have been in the top ten - her books are always out when I want them!

Yes, and not many authors there I've read. Our library always seems to have a couple of Anne Tylers, but always ones I've read.
