For my gothic basket, this velvety black petunia:

Last year I was boasting about rescuing a sad plant from the sale trolley and turning it into two good plants. Here’s the result: Aquilegia ‘Black Barlow’. It’s even darker than it looks in the photo.

I went to the market this morning and managed not to buy any more plants. Now for some more weeding in the sun. There's been hardly a drop of rain here for two months.
