It's just started raining! At last! Also turned very cold but that will make the tulips last longer she sa looking on the bright side. And speaking of bright, this tulip is 'Couleur Cardinal', a very old but very beautiful variety.



I do think tulips look better with some sort of background, not isolated like this group. I'd run out of space elsewhere so I dug a deep trench and put a dozen in the corner of the bed. I need to look up the name of the deep purple one.

If you work out what the purple one is, do let us know - it looks rather as though I planted some of them, too....

We didn't get much in the way of rain today, but it won't be a bad thing, if we do. And they're promising us a warmer weekend!

The purple tulip still baffles me as I've lost my list. I think the orange one is 'Prinses Irene'.
