Why I'll always take the ferry

I'm far too frightened of being TRAPPED in the Chunnel like these poor people. Makes me feel panicky just thinking about it.

I have to say, that puts me off the Eurostar, although I have done it before and, surprisingly given that I don't like tunnels, loved it - the first time I went we timed it and we spent less time under the Channel than on the Bakerloo line from Paddington to Waterloo, and it was infinitely nicer than the Bakerloo.

I've been stuck in the tunnel for nearly an hour and that was no fun.

Being stuck in a ferry on rough seas isn't very nice either, mind...

I've only been sea sick once and never want to be again.

The Zeebrugge disaster happened when I was at a formative age, so I never tend to feel that safe when travelling on a ferry either.

But so is staying at home! 11,788 people were injured in 2002 putting on their socks...

Anything to get out of there! Trains are fine when everything works. I like boats but there's no ferry between here and London, alas.

I heard something on French radio yesterday about people trapped in a tunnel but couldn't make out the particulars, so thanks for clearing that up!

In this weather I am wary of any form of transport. I hate the thought of having to go to work tomorrow.

It's hard for me to get out before the afternoon! I'm worried about people travelling here safely for Christmas.
The tunnel business is weird because there's been cold weather before without trains breaking down. The passengers' biggest complaint was that they had no information or help.
