Yet again I've failed to enter anything in our show and have to admire those who have done. I did my bit by turning up and by buying some plants. The photos are all of prize-winning exhibits.
Here's 'Sexy Rexy'; what a pretty little rose.

My favourite colour for chrysanthemums.

Aren't zinnias fun? I've never been able to grow them.

Oooh lovely! And I was in Wimborne today(fleetingly at Riverside Gallery) for inspiration for birthday presents! Sorry I missed both the flower show and you, but photos are lovely. Zinnias is something we managed to grow splendidly in California and very rewarding they were too! On a side note, I bought 3 plums from the grocers by the Minister - local Marjorie Fleming variety - can that be right? And they charged £1.30! Eeek!

Curses! The spring show is much better; this one was not very well supported, sadly.
Most of the zinnias looked a little the worse for the weather, so I can well believe they grow much better in California. Remember J & M's Granny saying she must grow some zinnias?
Never heard of Marjorie Fleming plums!

I love all of the flowers, but the chrysanthemums are particularly glorious.

I love the smoky smell of them that reminds me of chilly, misty autumn mornings of long ago. The ones you get from the florist never have that smell. Then a lot of the authors I read seem fond of 'great vases of tawny chrysanthemums' in the houses of their characters!
