Like everyone else, I've just been playing with Google Street View. Somewhat to my relief, my road and house are elusive, too rural. On the other hand, with a little more mouse skill I could probably watch my daughter going to work in the mornings.

Edit Not possible, I learn! I hope the day doesn't come when it is.

Who feels spied upon?

We were Street Viewed nearly 12 months ago. It's not "live", the car only comes round every six months or so. Amusingly, my car appears parked outside the holiday house we rented in Queensland last year!

All the same, I'm not sure I really like people being able to look at my house, even if the image is several months old.

However, a burglar was caught courtesy of Street View in Australia, and also there was one case of a guy seeing his wife kissing her boyfriend outside the house when the car came round. So that's amusing. And we were looking at a house advertised in a real estate brochure recently and got to see what it looked like just a few months ago ... cosmetic job to sell, or what? Most useful. We didn't bother going to look at it!

That's a comfort!

People always find reasons why CCTV for instance is useful. I still don't like it.

Two people on my Friends list have found themselves. I wonder how you do it?

One of my colleagues sent this round - it's our office!

Go to Google Maps, type in your post code, move the little pegman in the top left corner to your destination and select 'street view'. I've found my childhood home!

Coo!

I mean they have actually found photos of themselves! I've been scouring Soho and Bloomsbury hoping to catch a glimpse of myself, or my bike.

Oh, I see. That's a serious time-waster.

I was fascinated by Google Street View, and 'walked' around the area we used to live in Paris. Slightly spooky for some reason. Perhaps just because it reminded me of different times. I also found the house we lived in in Canberra.

I went for a 'walk' around the streets where I lived as a child. It *is* a very strange feeling and compulsive viewing.
