Just a dream at the moment. Can't believe these removal men. I thought I was well organised but they managed to pack my hot water bottle, hairbrush and all the alcohol while my back was turned! I rescued the whisky.

Hee! I think they go onto automatic pilot. We had some who packed the waste paper bins and their contents. Glad you retrieved the whisky!

Too late to wish you all the best for the move, so I shall say that I hope it went well and that by now - Sunday evening - you have found all the vital things like kettles (our movers packed it, I remember, how dumb is that?). Good thing you rescued the whisky.

Moving house

We moved into our present home 23 years ago on the 23rd December, just two days before Christmas. We didn't have a tree and I hadn't baked a cake, but we did have a lovely time settling in. I think it's a lovely time to move into a new home, so the very best of luck. Is it far from where you're currently living (which I think is Dorset if I'm not mistaken?)
