These Rudbeckias are the only sort of sunshine about at the moment. This morning, for about three hours, it looked like Indian summer had started as it was warm and sunny for the first time in at least a fortnight. This afternoon I had justed loaded the car for yet another trip to the dump when the heavens opened again. While I was down there exciting thundering and lightning started up and now we're back to gloom and wet. In the brief break and before my camera batteries gave out, I managed .

Now that the wild arum is in fruit it has lost all its leaves.

Potentilla 'Monarch's Velvet' is a gorgeous colour.

Just two of my lovely sedums.

This little shrub, Fuchsia 'Lottie Hobby' is smothered with tiny thumbnail sized flowers. It's very hardy; I've had it in flower in December.

Lovely photos - I have just come back from a garden centre trip with the Debfather where I was admiring beautful sedums; some like yours and an equally delicious darker one.

Your potentilla is such a gorgeous colour.

Thank you. I have some lovely dark leaved ones and also a white one. I find the bog standard variety is still the best garden do-er. A friend of mine has made a gravel garden and put a lot of sedums in it. All sorts of interesting seedlings have popped up; perhaps she'll make her fortune.

That potentilla was grown from seed, it's perennial and flowers for months. Highly recommended.
