What a lovely photograph - was this from your home or from a trip out in the car? We have visited Kingston Lacy nearby and absolutely loved the drive through the avenue of beech trees before turning into Kingston Lacy's drive. Indeed Kingston Lacy is one of my very favourite historic houses.
Thank you. That's the view from an upstairs window of my house. As the crow flies, you're looking towards Blandford Forum and the beech avenue is on that road. I worked at Kingston Lacy for several years, so know it very well.
What a wonderful view you have! You live in such a lovely part of the world. Fancy you having worked at Kingston Lacy! When we were last there I interviewed the Property Manager and my subsequent feature was in Heritage magazine (called Realm in America.) I love all the minatures hanging from the brass rail in the pink drawing room! We have also enjoyed a couple of visits - but not recently - to Cavalcade of Costume in Blandford Forum, at Lime Tree House. Indeed, visiting costume collections is something we really enjoy and I've just written about the 30th anniversary exhibition at Killerton here in Devon for a forthcoming issue of Ancestors magazine (not sure when this will be published.) I've now signed up for a username, so perhaps this will have my name attached?
It certainly is a lovely part of the country. I haven't been to the costume museum but have heard the late Mrs Penny give one of her talks. She was quite a character.
