A week ago I bought daffodils and lilies in the supermarket. The daffs were only £1.00 a bunch but they're over. The lilies are just opening and smell fabulous. I suppose there are all sorts of green reasons why I should not cheer up the house and myself with cheap supermarket lilies but I diskard them.

Date: 2008-04-24 08:40 pm (UTC)What a lovely photograph of a lily, such a beautiful flower although I find their scent a little too strong. I've been looking down the Tags and find so many things of interest, being new to your blog! My goodness, I even see old Brucie there - my memory of him was during the 1950s when my parents had a shop in St Marychurch, Torquay. Brucie was then a young man (I was a child) and he used to come into our shop before going for a round of golf at Torquay Golf Club. He was then in a show called Gay Time (you wouldn't call a show that these days!), a variety show, which was on all summer long at the little Bababcombe Theatre at the end of Babbacombe Downs. This was, of course, before he was on Sunday Night at the London Palladium.
I also see a Tag about Buckland Monochorum, where is one of my favourite gardens, The Garden House (not a house to visit, but a garden.) A truly
I've even looked at your decluttering Tag and hope that you didn't part with your early LPs. I have the very first LP which The Shadows produced. I adored the Shads but never Cliff, bless him! He didn't have enough 'edge', always a tad too nice.
I must stop reading the Tags otherwise I shall be here all day ...
