I've finished the back of the jumper I'm knitting with my Christmas yarn: Jaeger Baby Merino Four Ply. There are two panels of this pattern, which is called Lily of the Valley. This put into my head a song we used to sing in the Brownies (sick bags ready):
White coral bells upon a slender stalk
Lilies of the valley in my garden walk.
Oh how I wish that I could hear them ring
That will happen only when the fairies sing.

Pretty stitch pattern! Which pattern are you using for the jumper?

Thankfully our Brownies never sang anything so sickly....

Thank you! It's a very old pattern by Patricia Roberts. The pattern is for a twinset but I thought I would only have enough yarn for the short sleeved sweater. It's lasting out so well that I now think I could have made the cardigan instead. I could look out for more of the same yarn (tricky) or I have a fancy to try some patterned socks, which would be nice in this yarn.

If you've only done the back, could you adapt it to be the back of the cardigan instead?

That's very pretty. I like the way the lines of stitches curve.

Thank you. Yes, it's effective. The only slow part is doing the bobbles. It's years since I've done bobbles but it came right back to me.

That is exquisite. It reminds me of fine old lace.

I'm no knitter but I used to sing that song too. If your tune was the same as the one I learnt, it makes a nice four-part round.

Yes, it could go as a round! Glad to have triggered a memory.
