Oh dear, my paper shredder has blown up. I can see that the wire (excuse the technical term) is broken and access is impossible. Cunning of the makers of the Paper Monster Junior to produce a thing that can't be mended. Can anyone recommend a cheap replacement?

Stationery Box are pretty good for things like shredders, if you have one nearby. It's probably worth investing in one that cross-cuts the papers instead of just cutting it into long thin strips, I'm considering upgrading mine, but if I'm really bothered I can take stuff to work where we have a very good one.

Thanks for the ideas. Never heard of Stationery Box so I don't suppose there is one round here. I'm researching cross-cutting machines. I didn't realise just how expensive a lot of them are and I really only need one for shredding personal documents, card receipts and so on. But I did use it a lot, so I want another.

I'd suggest a pair of these.

If you're still looking, try this website...my wife used it when she was looking for an affordable shredder to use (she works at home)a couple months ago. Hope this helps, and if not, the gerbils would be a great place to start!
