Going off my head
When I could walk properly, I collected my prescription from the Boots pharmacy attached to our surgery. I would get a text telling me that my prescription was ready for collection. It was always a pain to do but at least I could do it in my own time and know the prescription would be waiting. When walking became so difficult for me, I arranged to have my prescription delivered (they use drivers). They charge £5.00 for this, although most pharmacies offer a free service.
So, I waited all day yesterday. I’m waiting today. I have no idea when or even if I will get my prescription *and Boots simply will not answer the phone*. This not knowing is so stressful for me that I’m having what amounts to a two-day panic attack and this morning, had to lie down for a while because I was so close to fainting from sheer nerves. I realise not everyone would be affected in the same way but that’s no comfort to me. I rarely write anything very personal on my blog but I’m at the end of my tether.

You hear nothing but complaints about Boots but they have a monopoly and are much worse than they used to be. The surgery has 15,000 patients and just this tiny Boots in the same building to cater for them all. Since Lloyds closed a few years ago, it's the only pharmacy in town.
There is a small pharmacy much nearer to home for me. When I asked in Boots once about switching to that, I was told, rather sniffily, that I was welcome to (because I live outside a certain radius of the surgery) but that it would have to go through my doctor. Since it takes six weeks just to get to speak to your doctor on the phone, that would be a hassle. Nevertheless, I'm going to phone this other pharmacy nect week and find out the truth. They offer every service imaginable and, most importantly, if you're lucky you can park right outside.
What makes me really angry is that Boots don't answer the phone. It never used to be like that.

Please do make a formal complaint, it is terrible the way they are treating you.
