Early this morning and already hot, I had to go to the launderette to pick up my winter duvet and then to the surgery for my prescription. Phew, even with the rollator it was an effort. I was the only person wearing a mask, yet people are still catching Covid and I certainly don't want it. Seems to me people are far too complacent.

It is warm, but at least it's quite cool indoors. I don't think I knew you had a rollator. I've had mine for almost 6 years (it doesn't seem that long) and it's been brilliant especially for being able to sit when I needed to. I still use it even though I have Violet for longer trips out.

Covid has risen quite a lot here since the Jubilee but the increase seems to be slowing down now although hospital admissions are going up more as the disease progresses. It's rare to see anyone wearing a mask. At least the staff in the surgery, when I was there last week, were wearing them. Barely any patients were although there was only a couple which seems to be the norm now. Not quite sure what the doctors are doing these days as I only ever see a nurse.

Yes, my mobility is getting worryingly poor. I've had the rollator for a year, also a stick and a couple of perching stools indoors. This is all thanks to the lovely OT, after I literally begged my doctor (on the phone, of course) for a home assessment. I don't think he realises how bad it is but I am actually seeing him next week (first time in two years) because he wants to examine my feet (pulses etc.) I had to wait six weeks just for the last phone appointment and when I mentioned this to him he just moaned about how overworked he is. It may be true but we are the sufferers.

Can you see a good physio even privately. Mum’s mobility declined in lockdown but the physio has made massive improvements. The physio told her U.K. adults have lost an average of 5% of their muscle mass because of lockdowns.

I suspect people see covid as inevitable now. I’ve had four jabs and I’m certain I got it in the office or on the train to the office.

My neighbour has given me contact details of a private physio who helped him when no one else could. It might be worth a try but the problem is that my legs hurt all the time, even at rest. It's very depressing. Interesting about lockdown; that's not a stat I've seen anywhere.

I am so sorry to hear that. Hopefully your doctor will look into it. Chronic pain is awful.

I'm sorry to hear about the moility issues and pain too. I do hope that you'll be able to get more help and treatment.

As for masks, it seems only respectful to me to wear them in a health setting. That was the last place for resrictions to be lifted in Wales, and in some areas, they've been asking people locally to wear them as a response to the uptick in cases. I'm on the cautious side myself, so I can't speak for others' thinking.
