callmemadamI have had a strange email from LJ, in Russian, telling me which were my top ten posts of the year i.e. the ones most read. Number 1 is ‘The Chalet School Prospectus’ and the Chalet School takes two more of the top posts. The second one, surprisingly, is a post I wrote on a book about cricketer Bob Willis, a post which got no comments at all. Crucially, ‘Dylan’ appeared in the header. People apparently also like to read about crime, Jane Austen, TV and my garden.
Obviously, it’s all about the header, so here is my hint for writing a popular post, should you wish to. Write any old rubbish but head it Bob Dylan’s Crime in Jane Austen’s Chalet School Garden and hey presto! your post is LJ’s #1 for the day. LJ have also produced a card which supposedly tells you how long it would take someone to read all your posts for the year. Three hours to read mine, allegedly. It must be for slow readers.
