Autumn means getting ready for spring

I’d promised myself that I would plant my early bulbs on 1st September and I have done.
I will allow myself a little moan about it: why can’t any plant company get a bulb order right? I’ve found this time and again, with different companies. Today, I found one variety missing completely and replaced by a duplicate of another of the varieties I’d ordered. Actually, I got an extra bag as well, so I shouldn’t complain too much but it’s not what I wanted! Now I have pots of miniature daffodils and one of dwarf iris ‘Katharine Hodgkin’ ready for next year and twenty more tiny daffodils added to the existing collection in the foxglove bed. I can’t think where on earth to put the bulbs in the extra bag.

Well done getting the bulbs in when you said you would. It's a lovely day for it (here anyway). Cooler but lovely and sunny. Shame the company couldn't get your order right. I often wonder what they must be thinking about when they make so many mistakes, although packing orders of bulbs for customers isn't exactly rocket science. I'm sure your bulbs will look splendid in the spring when they all flower :) I bought half a dozen ceramic pots with me when I moved so I suppose I should plant them!

It seemed a good idea as the weather is forecast to get worse. I'm glad it's done. Each packet of bulbs is clearly labelled so I don't understand why there's always something wrong with a bulb order.

It would be a shame not to use the pots when you've brought them so far!
