Hopeless

I am nearly in tears over trying to get a delivery slot for groceries. I check several times a day for the next slots to be available but they're gone as soon as I see them. I tried phoning Tesco three times this morning. The help number, usually so good, cuts out as soon as the automatic message has finished. How do people get these slots? Is there a secret to it?
Meanwhile, I'm paying (Delivery Saver) for a service I'm not getting.

Sorry to moan; I feel better for writing it down.

Many hugs. I’m so sorry it’s all so ghastly for you. I have given up trying to get a delivery even though I’m not supposed to go grocery shopping. My boss phoned her local store in tears - she’s in the stay at home for 12 weeks group and they sent her shopping in a taxi.

Thank you. There's not much point ordering people to stay home if they have to go out, is there?

I'm sorry about your boss; it won't do her any good. It's really getting silly. I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't suspect that quite young and fit people are getting these slots.

You are an early riser, I believe, but maybe this strategy might work?

Or do you have neighbours who still go out grocery shopping that you could ask?

My eyes start closing at around nine! I could set an alarm, I suppose. Nice link, thanks.

Neighbours have offered to shop but although I wouldn't mind asking them to get bread and milk, a full shop seems a big ask. They have three young children, which is a lot of shopping.

{{Hugs}}. It's stressful having to keep looking for the darned slots. Tesco seem to be booked until 21st April but I had an email which said "We’ve already expanded our home delivery and Click+Collect capacity to around 780,000 delivery slots this week, up from 660,000 two weeks ago, with plans to increase this by another 100,000 in the coming weeks". The problem is, I think, is that that they are booked up until 21st April even with the additional slots but it will hopefully get better as the following week rolls over. Sainsbury's have slots at the moment. I hope you manage to get something. It's a ridiculous situation for anyone who needs online shopping.

21st April appeared for the first time this morning, with the slots all gone. I may have to take the advice given above and wake myself at midnight!

It sure is. It seems like wartime rationing, with people advising each other on which shops have got what.
