I see one of today’s Kindle deals is The Pure Gold Baby by Margaret Drabble. I thought it was the best book she’d written for ages and you can read my review here.

Got that when I first read your review and so enjoyed it - best for ages for sure. This morning there's 4 very nice free to buy Dean Street Press ones if you haven't spotted/bought them yet. Wentworth - Red Lacquer Case - David Niven's The Other Side of the Balloon - a Punshon and a Thynne.

Thanks for the Dean Street tips (and my sister says thanks, too!) I got a couple more recently but not Red Lacquer. Off I go to find it.

Edit. Rats, Red Lacquer is no longer free but I got another Bobby Owen (I really like them) and a Thynne. My Kindle is loaded with TBR books!
