Potty

This damp, windy weather is no good for the plants in pots which live outside. Petals get spotted, leaves rot and have to be removed. This Pelargonium 'White Unique' (bought at Cranborne) is safely in the greenhouse, so remains in pristine condition.

One of my chimney pots, planted up with very dark red ivy-leaf geranium, fuchsia and a diascia which is failing to thrive.

No garden of taste these days contains a hanging basket but I think a quaint little porch like mine cries out for one. It's cheerful and I can see it from indoors.

Who cares about taste, it's a very pretty hanging basket! I'm partial to those daisies myself. The chimney pot looks lovely too - my pots are all a bit random this year, I didn't have time to go and choose plants and ended up with a mixed tray of pelargoniums brought home by my very own hunter-gatherer, looking as pleased with himself as a labrador puppy with a dead crow :(

Right, down with the style police. I'm keen on co-ordinated pots. Bad luck on the mixed tray!

Love that chimney pot. Geraniums make me happy, especially the earthy smell of the leaves. I like The Proclaimers, too. Sunshine on Leith is a beautiful song. Nicola@VintageReads

Me too.
I'm finding Spotify brilliant for songs I don't have on the iPod.
