Quiet afternoon

Hooray, it keeps raining so that I don't have to feel guilty about not gardening. I finished these bedsocks



made from oddments of Patons Fairy Tale. There was only just enough of the blue, hence the stripes. Instead of cracking on with my jumper, as I should do, I immediately started a new pair of socks in this yarn. Thank you, mimmimmim! Here's how it knits up.



Knitting and Test Match Special go very well together. If only I could watch it! I'll just have to wait for Cricket on Five this evening.

I made my mim socks during the last couple of days of Wimbledon - I got most of one sock done during the men's final! The tenser it got the faster I knitted...

Ooh, both lovely. I love the way you've posed the cute elephant. Haven't made a knitted toy since I was a child but I saved the Simply Knitting issues with the farm animals in; I liked the pigs.

Those elephants are just gorgeous! we have a workmate who knitted one, and I think Elizabeth on my mag is about to start one.

I've just finished my first Viking sock, and the wrists are holding up okay so I might cast on the next one.

We've got an advent tree with next issue. It's a knitted tree (three dimensional) with 25 decorations to put on it as advent progresses. I'm not keen on the tree, but some of the ornaments are gorgeous; there's an adorable knitted bear among them.

It's lovely and it was free! It's coming out in self stripes followed by the dots. I've just turned a heel and am setting off down the foot...
