callmemadam: (Who's Queen?)

The lovely Cornflower was tagged for this meme. She offered it up for anyone and for once I’ve taken up the offer.

What's the last film you saw in a cinema?
The World’s Fastest Indian. I don’t like modern cinemas much; having to sit so near the screen; the popcorn munching. I liked it when you sat at the back on velvet tip-up seats, smoking.

What book are you reading?
Great Expectations (again) after reading Mister Pip. It’s wonderful (GE, that is).

Favourite board game?
I don’t really enjoy board or card games. I’m easily bored and a bad loser.

Favourite sounds
A clarinet playing Mozart, the opening bars of the St Matthew Passion, a lark singing.

Future child's name?
N/A! Children’s names have become so bizarre that if I were choosing now I’d go for John or Mary, to be different.

Do you drive fast?
When conditions allow:-)

Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?
Certainly not. I prefer a hot water bottle.

What was your first car?
The first car I’ve ever bought myself and which is exclusively mine is my current one, a Renault Clio.

Do you eat the stems on broccoli?
They’re the best parts!

Name all the different cities/towns you've lived in
London, Croydon, Bristol, Brighton, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Angmering-On-Sea, Sutton, Wimborne Minster. Southern girl, moi.

Favourite sports to watch?
Test Match Cricket. Racing. I always watch Wimbledon.

One nice thing about the person who sent this to you
She makes the effort to produce a daily blog which is always a treat to look at. I have to add a second, which is that she is really nice!

Would you like to be born as yourself again?
I leave these things to God.

Favourite ice-cream flavour?
Pistachio.

Now that sounds like a civilised cinema! Our local theatre does show films, which one can watch in retro discomfort. Otherwise it's a drive to a horrible multi-screen place. Not my idea of a nice evening out.
