Don't call it an arrangement

I like to have flowers in the house but I'm terribly mean about picking them from the garden. One rose and a lot of Lady's Mantle, that's my style. The kitchen posy above is just a few geranium flowers with Lady's Mantle and some flax (a weed). Below: Acanthus mollis, phlox, Eryngium giganteum (Miss Willmott's Ghost). I have far too much of Miss Willmott; I should never have let the first plant seed.

You can't be mean with sweet peas, as the whole point of them is to pick, pick, pick every day. They might get a post to themselves.

The flowers look charming Barbara! Is that a Laura Ashley jug and tile? I think I still have a knitting bag in that pattern. I find after 20 odd moves it's knitting equipment that seems to have survived the longest. I got The Unbearable Lightness of Scones today. Have you to thank for starting me off on those! Will pass on to you (also new Susan Hill and Eva Ibbotson - A Company of Swans) if you fancy them - do let me know. Perhaps we could manage an evening or weekend get-together whilst sun is out! Hello, thank you! Yes, Laura Ashley, I've had them for years. Books! Yes please. I'm throwing out *hundreds* but still need more to read. Must meet, lots of news.
