RIP Andrew Sachs. There was much more to him than Fawlty Towers but it’s what he’ll always be remembered for. ‘I know nothing’ is his most famous line, from the episode with wonderful Joan Sanderson as the grumpy deaf woman (Communication Problems). I’m also fond of ‘she go crazy’ (The Psychiatrist) and the scene where he climbs into a laundry basket, saying, ‘I stay here, is nice’ (The Kipper and the Corpse). Timeless.

He was wonderful and he'll be missed. The Kipper and the Corpse was my favourite but to be honest they were all brilliant. His son was on Victoria this morning talking about him.

Missed but not forgotten. Notice how people are pointing out that he came to this country as a refugee?

Love that icon!

Yes, I did notice, ironic in this current climate. He didn't speak any English when he came here and ended up with perfect accentless English.

"Communication Problems" is my absolute favourite FT episode.

And another legend bites the dust. 2016 is proving quite the lethal year for well-loved actors and musicians.

Hard to choose but I do love that one. Nice interviews with his son on TV here.

Too right.
